Limited Warranty Policy

Warranty coverage, exclusions, and replacement procedures for eligible Raksham Labs products.

Last updated: 2026-05-11

1. Limited warranty framework

Unless expressly stated on the applicable product page, products are supplied without an additional commercial warranty beyond mandatory legal protections applicable under law.

Where a product page expressly publishes warranty coverage (for example, "6-Month Limited Warranty"), warranty service is governed exclusively by this Limited Warranty Policy together with the Refund & Replacement Policy and related terms.

The dead-on-arrival (DOA) replacement window described in the Refund & Replacement Policy applies separately from this Limited Warranty Policy.

Warranty eligibility applies only to products purchased directly from Raksham Labs or authorised sales channels. Products sourced through grey-market resellers, unauthorised distributors, or third-party marketplaces not operated or authorised by Raksham Labs are not covered.

Evaluation and pre-production units. Evaluation units, engineering samples, development kits, beta hardware, alpha samples, and pre-production units may be supplied on an "as-is" basis without warranty coverage even if a warranty is published for the production version of the same SKU. Where applicable, such units are identified at the time of order.

OEM, private-label, and integrator sales. Where products are integrated, rebranded, resold, or redistributed by an OEM, distributor, system integrator, or private-label partner, the warranty obligation under this Policy runs only between Raksham Labs and the original direct purchaser. Downstream end-customer warranty obligations rest with the OEM, integrator, or reseller unless a separate written agreement between Raksham Labs and that downstream customer provides otherwise. OEM, enterprise, reseller, institutional, commercial, or research agreements may themselves be governed by separate written warranty terms.

Extended warranty plans. Where Raksham Labs separately offers an extended warranty, service plan, or care plan for a SKU, the terms of that specific plan supplement (but do not replace) this Limited Warranty Policy. In the event of conflict between an extended warranty plan and this Policy, the extended warranty plan prevails to the extent of the additional coverage it grants.

No oral or implied warranties. No oral statements, marketing materials, datasheets, social media posts, technical-support communications, or representations by Raksham Labs employees, agents, integrators, or partners create warranties beyond those expressly published on the applicable product page and this Limited Warranty Policy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, all implied warranties (including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) are limited to the duration and scope of the express warranty (if any) published on the applicable product page.

2. Scope of published warranty coverage

Where a warranty is expressly published on a product page, warranty coverage:

  • begins from the confirmed delivery date;
  • remains valid only for the published warranty duration;
  • covers manufacturing defects arising from Raksham Labs manufacturing or assembly processes;
  • applies only to the original purchaser associated with the order;
  • is non-transferable unless otherwise required by applicable law;
  • may be fulfilled through repair, replacement, refurbished replacement, store credit, or another commercially reasonable remedy at Raksham Labs' discretion.

Replacement units may be new or functionally equivalent refurbished units of the same or equivalent SKU.

Warranty period after replacement or repair. Where a unit is repaired or replaced under this Policy, the repaired or replacement unit is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or for 30 days from the date of dispatch of the replacement, whichever is longer. Where applicable consumer-protection law (including, where applicable, the EU Consumer Sales Directive) requires a longer period for a like-new replacement, the statutory minimum applies.

Kits, bundles, and multi-unit SKUs. For kits, bundles, paired sets, or multi-unit SKUs, warranty service is provided for the specific failed component, board, or sub-assembly. Replacement of the entire kit, bundle, or paired set is not guaranteed except where the failure materially affects functionality of the bundle as a whole.

Refunds, operational reimbursements, labour reimbursement, integration reimbursement, or mission-compensation claims are not available unless repair or replacement is not reasonably feasible.

Raksham Labs does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available operation of products, firmware, software, integrations, or telemetry systems.

3. Warranty exclusions and non-covered conditions

Warranty coverage does not apply to:

  • physical damage, crash damage, drops, impact damage, crushing, bending, vibration damage, mishandling, or improper transport after delivery;
  • moisture exposure, water ingress, salt-air exposure, oxidation, corrosion, condensation, excessive dust exposure, EMI exposure, contamination, fire, smoke, lightning, or harsh environmental conditions outside published specifications;
  • improper storage conditions including humidity exposure, contamination, long-term battery discharge, improper battery storage, unsafe environmental exposure, or temperature abuse;
  • reverse polarity, over-voltage, over-current, unstable power conditions, short-circuit conditions, incorrect wiring, or power-system failure;
  • improper handling including ESD (electrostatic discharge), unsafe soldering practices, unsafe installation methods, contamination, or handling damage;
  • unsupported firmware, modified firmware, custom bootloaders, unofficial software modifications, unsupported APIs, or experimental firmware environments;
  • modifications, disassembly, unauthorised repair attempts, shield removal, third-party rework, or non-authorised servicing activity;
  • racing, abusive operation, experimental deployment, hazardous deployment, military deployment, unlawful deployment, or operation beyond published specifications;
  • unlawful activity, sanctions violations, prohibited surveillance activity, or regulatory non-compliant deployment;
  • normal wear and tear of components with finite operational life (including without limitation motors, bearings, connectors, fans, batteries, propellers, antennas, gaskets, seals, and other rotating, mating, or consumable parts);
  • cosmetic wear not materially affecting functionality including scratches, solder residue, finish variation, minor PCB blemishes, or superficial marks;
  • consumables including cables, foam, adhesives, thermal pads, fasteners, stickers, packaging materials, or similar wear-related items;
  • damage occurring during customer installation, calibration, transportation, storage, handling, firmware flashing, or operational deployment after delivery;
  • products with altered, unreadable, removed, damaged, or missing serial numbers, tamper indicators, manufacturing identifiers, or heat-shrink protection (tampering with such identifiers may additionally void any applicable regulatory certification, including CE, FCC, RED, WPC, or equivalent approvals);
  • downtime costs, operational interruption, labour costs, mission loss, integration expenses, third-party service costs, business interruption, or loss of airframe;
  • compatibility issues involving third-party firmware, hardware, APIs, operating systems, radios, communication systems, flight controllers, ESCs, software stacks, or custom integrations;
  • calibration drift, sensor variance, telemetry fluctuation, or performance variation within published tolerances;
  • differences between laboratory, bench-test, simulation, and real-world field operating conditions;
  • continued compatibility with future third-party firmware, operating systems, APIs, hardware platforms, or regulatory standards.

Safety-critical applications. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, products are not certified for aviation-critical, safety-critical, medical, nuclear, life-support, or critical-infrastructure applications.

Firmware-update regressions. Where an official Raksham Labs firmware update is determined to have introduced a defect on a previously functional unit, Raksham Labs will provide a corrective update, rollback path, or equivalent remedy at no charge. Functional regressions caused by customer-applied unsupported firmware, third-party firmware, downgrades performed outside the supported path, or firmware-related compatibility issues with third-party hardware or software stacks are not covered.

Transit damage claims are governed separately under the Shipping Policy.

4. Customer responsibilities and data handling

Customers are solely responsible for:

  • proper installation, calibration, integration, configuration, and operational verification before deployment;
  • ensuring operation within published voltage, current, thermal, environmental, and operational specifications;
  • independently testing and validating products before operational deployment;
  • ensuring lawful and compliant deployment within applicable aviation, telecom, export-control, cybersecurity, and operational regulations;
  • backing up firmware settings, calibration information, operational profiles, and configuration data before returning products;
  • securely packaging returned products during RMA shipment.

Compatibility with third-party systems, firmware environments, hardware platforms, radios, communication systems, operating systems, or integrations is not guaranteed unless expressly stated.

Data handling for returned products. Customers should remove sensitive configuration information, telemetry logs, calibration profiles, mission data, and operational records from products before return where reasonably possible. Where returned products contain residual customer data, such data may be accessed by Raksham Labs technicians strictly as necessary to diagnose the reported issue and is otherwise handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Returned units undergoing refurbishment or onward sale are securely erased, factory-reset, or overwritten before reuse where technically feasible. Raksham Labs does not guarantee the recoverability of data left on returned products and is not liable for loss of such data.

5. Warranty eligibility verification

Raksham Labs reserves the right to determine warranty eligibility using:

  • serial-number tracking;
  • manufacturing records;
  • order history;
  • firmware diagnostics;
  • inspection findings;
  • operational diagnostics;
  • submitted evidence.

Proof of authorised purchase. Customers may be required to provide proof of authorised purchase, including the original order number, payment confirmation, tax invoice, serial-number record, or Raksham Labs receipt. Where proof of authorised purchase cannot be established, warranty service may be refused.

Product registration. Where Raksham Labs offers a product-registration mechanism for a specific SKU, registration within the timeframe stated on the applicable product page may be a precondition for warranty service. Registration requirements (if any) and the applicable registration window are stated on the relevant product page; no registration is required where the product page does not state otherwise.

Evidence of tampering, unsupported modification, unauthorised repair attempts, intentional damage, altered serial identifiers, or prohibited operational use may void warranty eligibility.

Warranty evaluation is performed under controlled diagnostic and test conditions defined by Raksham Labs.

6. How to request warranty service (RMA)

To initiate warranty service:

  1. Confirm that the product page expressly publishes warranty coverage and that the warranty period remains valid.
  2. Contact hello@rakshamlabs.com using the email associated with the original order.
  3. Include:
    • order number;
    • product details;
    • issue description;
    • photos and / or video evidence;
    • requested diagnostic information where applicable.

Raksham Labs may request additional troubleshooting, operational information, firmware details, wiring photographs, configuration information, or diagnostic procedures before approving warranty return processing.

If approved, an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number and shipping instructions will be issued. Unauthorised returns shipped without an RMA may be refused.

RMA validity window. Approved RMAs expire if returned products are not shipped within 14 days of RMA issuance, unless a longer window is granted by Raksham Labs in writing. Expired RMAs require re-submission and re-approval before return.

Return shipping costs. Unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law, outbound return shipping from the customer to Raksham Labs is at the customer's expense and risk. For confirmed manufacturing defects falling within warranty coverage, Raksham Labs may at its discretion reimburse reasonable inbound shipping costs against submitted proof, and will cover outbound shipping of the repaired or replacement unit to the original delivery address. For products determined to fall outside warranty coverage, return shipping costs in both directions remain the customer's responsibility.

Reverse-logistics insurance. Customers are responsible for insuring return shipments at full declared value. Raksham Labs is not liable for loss, damage, theft, customs detention, or carrier failure of returned products in transit to our facility prior to receipt and inspection. Customers are responsible for securely packaging products during return shipment; damage occurring during return transit due to inadequate packaging may void eligibility.

International warranty returns may require customs declarations, export documentation, import processing, or additional transit review, and may be subject to additional transit delays.

Advance replacement shipment is not guaranteed unless separately agreed in writing.

7. Evaluation, repair, and replacement process

Returned products may undergo:

  • visual inspection;
  • electrical testing;
  • firmware diagnostics;
  • operational validation;
  • controlled-environment testing;
  • compliance review.

If a covered manufacturing defect is confirmed, Raksham Labs may at its discretion:

  • repair the product;
  • replace the product;
  • provide a refurbished replacement unit;
  • issue store credit;
  • provide another commercially reasonable remedy.

Diagnostic and non-defect-found fee. Products returned and determined to fall outside warranty coverage, or for which no defect can be reproduced under controlled test conditions, may incur a diagnostic and handling fee in addition to return shipping at customer expense. The applicable fee (where any) is communicated to the customer before the product is returned, and the customer may elect to abandon the product in lieu of paying the fee.

Inspection upon receipt. Replacement products should be inspected promptly upon receipt before:

  • installation;
  • firmware flashing;
  • charging;
  • calibration;
  • operational deployment.

8. Replacement availability and product lifecycle limitations

If the original SKU becomes discontinued, unavailable, export-restricted, end-of-life, operationally unavailable, or supply-constrained, Raksham Labs may provide:

  • equivalent replacement products;
  • refurbished replacements;
  • store credit;
  • another commercially reasonable remedy.

Warranty coverage does not guarantee:

  • continuous product availability;
  • long-term firmware support;
  • ongoing component availability;
  • perpetual compatibility;
  • backward compatibility;
  • future regulatory compatibility.

Firmware behaviour, telemetry output, integration characteristics, or operational performance may vary between firmware versions, hardware revisions, and deployment environments.

9. Out-of-warranty repair

For products outside warranty coverage, products with expired warranty, or failures determined to fall outside the warranty scope, Raksham Labs may at its sole discretion offer paid repair, paid replacement, or paid refurbishment on a case-by-case basis. Pricing, turnaround, and feasibility are quoted on a per-unit basis after diagnostic evaluation and may be declined where parts, components, or production capacity are unavailable.

Paid repairs do not extend the original published warranty period and are not themselves covered under this Limited Warranty Policy. A short workmanship coverage period (where offered) is communicated at the time of quote.

To request a paid repair quote, contact hello@rakshamlabs.com with the order number, serial number, and a description of the failure.

10. Turnaround times and operational limitations

Warranty evaluation, diagnostics, repair, replacement, customs handling, and shipping timelines may vary depending on:

  • diagnostics complexity;
  • logistics conditions;
  • parts availability;
  • customs processing;
  • export restrictions;
  • sanctions screening;
  • carrier limitations;
  • operational workload;
  • force majeure circumstances.

Raksham Labs does not guarantee fixed turnaround timelines unless expressly agreed in writing.

Warranty fulfilment may be delayed by customs review, sanctions restrictions, cyber incidents, infrastructure outages, carrier disruption, supply shortages, governmental action, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Extended force majeure. Where a force majeure event affecting warranty fulfilment persists beyond 90 consecutive days, either party may cancel the affected warranty claim, and Raksham Labs will issue a pro-rata refund, store credit, or another commercially reasonable remedy where applicable. Raksham Labs will resume warranty service as soon as reasonably practicable once the event ends.

Warranty service does not include onsite servicing, field repair, deployment assistance, installation services, or operational recovery unless separately agreed in writing.

11. Warranty territory and international limitations

Warranty service availability may vary depending on:

  • destination-country restrictions;
  • sanctions controls;
  • export regulations;
  • customs procedures;
  • carrier limitations;
  • operational-security review;
  • logistics conditions.

Certain jurisdictions may require additional compliance review before return shipment or replacement processing can proceed.

Customers remain responsible for:

  • customs duties;
  • brokerage fees;
  • import taxes;
  • telecom approvals;
  • local regulatory obligations;
  • destination-country compliance requirements.

12. Limitation of warranty liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this Limited Warranty Policy provides the exclusive remedies available for eligible warranty claims.

Raksham Labs shall not be liable for:

  • indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages;
  • mission interruption;
  • operational downtime;
  • business interruption;
  • loss of airframe;
  • loss of telemetry;
  • regulatory penalties;
  • integration costs;
  • data loss;
  • consequential damages;
  • third-party operational losses.

13. Statutory rights

This Limited Warranty Policy does not limit any non-waivable rights available under applicable consumer-protection laws including the Indian Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the EU Consumer Sales Directive (Directive 2019/771) where applicable, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 where applicable, and equivalent mandatory consumer-protection laws applicable in the customer's jurisdiction of residence.
